BASE Environmental offers services to the coal, oil and gas industries in the Appalachian basin. For the coal industry, we offer site reclamation, stream restoration, and valley fill restoration services. For the oil/gas industry, BASE Environmental can build your well locations, reclaim well locations, and perform all permitting, compliance, and maintenance services. BASE Environmental principals have over 20 years experience working exclusively in the energy industry, and have a thorough understanding of the issues facing this industry.
Environmental Services
BASE Environmental personnel have performed environmental work at hundreds of locations across the US. From simple excavations using shovels and small excavators to complex subsurface treatment systems involving large and/or complex pieces of equipment, BASE Environmental has been there, done that. We use a combination of our own as well as leased equipment, so we can adapt to your specific situation.
BASE Environmental has participated in hundreds of soil remediation projects. This includes sites with heavy metals, PCBs, chlorinated and non-chlorinated solvents, and semi-volatile compounds. BASE Environmental has the capability not only to perform the removal, but also the technical expertise to collect samples, coordinate analytical services, manage waste disposal, and prepare reports.
BASE Environmental personnel have extensive experience with PCB remediation. Not only can we handle soil contamination, but we address the source of the PCB issue by decontamination of equipment, surfaces, and concrete. It is our experience that extraction technologies and permitted treatment processes frequently fail to adequately remove PCBs from concrete when tested years later. For this reason, BASE Environmental offers state of the art removal technologies that permanently address PCB issues while minimizing costs. Underground storage tanks are still an issue for most industries. We can remove your old tank, cleanup any soil contamination, install wells if necessary, and put in the new tank...complete turn key. We also perform tank cleaning for underground and above ground storage tanks.
Stream Restoration Services
BASE Environmental offers the full range of stream restoration services, including J-hooks, stream bank stabilization and channel re-alignment. BASE Environmental has successfully addressed acid mine drainage from abandoned mine lands as well as performing natural stream restoration at multiple locations in West Virginia.
Construction Services
BASE Environmental offers clean construction services such as slip repairs, construction of secondary containments, fencing and berms around impacted areas, and other general construction services. Other services include access roads, staging areas, work areas, and erosion controls. If you have an existing structure, you may have to institute changes in accordance with spill prevention control and countermeasure (SPCC) plans. We can install your new tanks, and we can help address your water run-off issues by installing proper drainage.
